Quick answer

The New Parent Support Program offers home visits and classes, your Fleet & Family Support Center is a one-stop shop for parenting and deployment help, and Military OneSource is available 24/7. TRICARE covers your maternity care.

New Parent Support Program (NPSP)

A free, voluntary program for expecting and new military parents, staffed by nurses and family-support professionals. It offers home visits, parenting education, and one-on-one guidance from pregnancy through your child's early years โ€” especially helpful when family is far away or a deployment is on the calendar. Ask your Fleet & Family Support Center or command about enrolling, or look up your installation's program on MilitaryINSTALLATIONS.

Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC)

Your FFSC is the hub for free parenting and life-skills classes, deployment and relocation support, counseling, and referrals. The main FFSC Norfolk office is at 7928 14th Street, Norfolk โ€” phone 757-444-2102. Additional offices serve bases across the region.

Military OneSource

Free, confidential support 24/7 at 1-800-342-9647 or militaryonesource.mil โ€” including non-medical counseling, new-parent resources, and help navigating benefits.
